Who he/she is?

I would like to talk about Luxiu Li, a famous Russian contestant in a Chinese performance-orientated reality show called “Chuangzaoying” which means idol-creating camp in English.

He had gorgeous facial features such as a protruding nose and a pair of hollow eyes, but he always showed us his oily hair which sometimes was rather nasty.

When I first saw him in this programme, I was a bit angry about his attitude because it’s kind of difficult for people to have a chance to attend that reality show but he just showed no patience and no willingness to compete.

How you knew about him/her

And explain why you are interested in him/her

So, I was quite interested in what made him present in this programme and then I found out that he was actually forced to do so. Before his presence in this show, he was invited to be an interpreter for contestants from Russia because he could speak fluent and native level Chinese. To his surprise, the director noticed him and thought he was good-looking enough to be one of the contestants. He showed no interest in it and just wanted to get back home soon, but he failed. Instead of being just an interpreter, he joined the competition against his will, which was basically why he performed so badly in almost all his solos.

After knowing this, a lot of people like me noted his positive sides. For example, when he was at the risk of being eliminated, he tried his best to show his sadness but always failed with a slight smile, which was quite funny. Additionally, although he wanted to lose, he never gave up on group performance. I mean, he respected other candidates’ efforts a lot. In this case, he turned out to be popular in China. His fans kept voting for him just because they enjoyed watching him forced to be on the stage and not being able to get home.

What he/she was like before he became famous
